Kathmandu

Nagarkot
Nagarkot is a scenic viewpoint in the Bhaktapur District of Kathmandu Valley. The point locates at an altitude of 2,195metres from sea level and offers the best sunrise view and mountain panorama around Kathmandu. It is located just 28km away from Kathmandu. The place is trendy among both local and foreign tourists. Thus, you’ll find a good number of hotels in Nagarkot.
Nagarkot is one of the busiest hill stations in Nepal. Thanks to its breathtaking sunrise views and the widest panorama of the Himalayas. For these two reasons, the place is never void of visitors. Yet, the place also offers a complete vision of the entire Kathmandu Valley. Therefore, Nagarkot is the best place to drive when you need refreshments in Kathmandu.
Talking about its mountain views, Nagarkot never disappoints its visitors. The hilltop presents a broad panorama of eight different Himalayan ranges of Nepal. The range would include the Annapurna range, Langtang range, Rolwaling range, Mahalangur range, Jugal range, Numbur range, Ganesh Himal range, and more. This means you can catch glimpses of Mt Everest also.
Daman
Daman is another popular hill station in Nepal located around 77km southwest of Kathmandu in the Makwanpur district. The place is perfect for escaping the crowd of urban Nepal and wandering on the rural, peaceful side. Despite being a little away from the capital, the stop is popular among the local people to play snow during Winter and mountain panoramas.
To reach Daman, we have to travel via a scenic highway. Along the route, we have to pass numerous iconic settlements. The locals of the region mainly do agriculture and household work, which any traveler enjoys while on the journey to this place.
And as we reach the hill station of Daman(2,322m), we get one of the best views of the Himalayas ranging from Dhaulagiri to Mt Everest. A view tower offers a clear, panoramic view of the peaks like Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Mt Everest, Langtang, and more.
Bandipur
Bandipur is a Newari town located on a hillock in the Tanahun District of Nepal. The ancient town is located around 143km west of Kathmandu, located around the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway. The place is inhabited by Newar and Brahmins, Chhetries, Sarkis, Magars, Gurungs, and other ethnic groups. Therefore, it is a small but diverse town.
The ancient houses showing class architecture and style are the best things about Bandipur. Pagoda Styled houses are the most common ones in the town. With an elevation of 1,600m, Sarangkot is a hill residing west of Pokhara. Everyone visiting Pokhara comes here to enjoy Mt Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna Massifs’ best view. The ridge provides a 360 panoramic view of Pokhara Valley, Fewa Lake, and surrounding mountains.
In Dusk or dawn, you’ll find people on the hilltop to catch marvelous glimpses from here. Both sunrise and sunset views are magical and worth watching. The viewpoint is reachable after a drive of two hours from Pokhara. It is also a paragliding location in Pokhara, which is quite popular among adventure lovers. If you are in Pokhara for a day, an early morning drive to this viewpoint is a must.
Pokhara
Pokhara, the tourism hub in Nepal, is an iconic city known for its mountain views and lakes. The city is the second-most populous city in Nepal after Kathmandu. The city resides around 200km west of Kathmandu. Pokhara is very famous among both local and international visitors. Thus, the city hosts many visitors throughout the year.
The city has many things that keep attracting visitors. Firstly, the beautiful Fewa lake of the town is a perfect spot for a scenic boat ride. While you ride in the water of Fewa Lake, you get mesmerizing views of Mt Annapurna and Machhapuchhre from the lake. Moreover, there are caves like Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave to explore. Similarly, the Tal Barahi temple in the middle of the lake, David’s fall in the city, World Peace Stupa on the hill above the lake are the other sights to visit in Pokhara.
